A documentary on film censorship during Greece’s military dictatorship period (1967–1974), based on the archive of the junta’s censorship bureau, brought to light for the first time. Featuring excerpts from Greek and international films that were censored or banned, contemporary newsreels, interviews with directors, as well as classified documents revealed for the first time, the film exposes the regime’s mechanisms of control while painting a vivid portrait of the era.
TRIVIA
This was a television documentary, produced by the Vouli channel, that made its way to festivals and special screenings. The title ironically alludes to a slogan used in the junta’s propaganda, stamped all over an official document which disclosed the regime’s stance on cinema.
