Biography

Kostas Aristopoulos was born in Athens in 1940. He studied Acting at the Drama School of the Art Theater, as well as Film at the London Film School. He has worked as a director in theater, television, and cinema. His short film The Ogres (1971) received an award at the Cannes Festival, and it was also selected by the Society of Film Directors (SRF) to be screened at the French Cinematheque. His first feature film, Cranium Landscape, was awarded at the 14th Greek Film Festival in Thessaloniki for Giorgos Arvanitis’s cinematography, as well as for the “artistic integrity with which Kostas Aristopoulos approached the subject of the film.” However, the director refused to accept the awards.
